This virtual platform allows us to continue to provide effective physiotherapy assessments and treatments when an in-person appointment, for whatever reason, is not possible. Although the hands-on component will not be there, we will still be able to provide the same exceptional care given in the clinic. That being said, some problems are not always appropriate for telehealth. Be sure to contact us or book a free virtual consultation to see if telehealth might be a good option for you!

Note: This is NOT fitness Pilates. This is a physiotherapy session, using the concepts of Pilates to assist in the rehabilitation of an injury or dysfunction in the body. Like all physiotherapy sessions at FreeForm, these appointments are one-on-one, and led by a registered physiotherapist.

Clinical Pilates is based on the principles and philosophy of Joseph Pilates’ original work incorporating current knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and kinesiology, whilst using clinical reasoning skills to tailor a Pilates focused physiotherapy program specifically for rehabilitation. Pilates uses a system of exercises to facilitate a mind-body relationship in order to achieve optimal performance. Your one-on-one clinical Pilates/physiotherapy session is guided by a registered physiotherapist and is used in conjunction with traditional physiotherapy treatment as a form of exercise rehabilitation.

My treatment approach is reflected by the fact that everyone’s body is unique. I believe that body awareness and being able to control movements are essential for successful rehabilitation and injury prevention. In a physio treatment with me you can expect individualized exercises to address specific problem areas and use of manual and soft tissue techniques to relieve pain and help create muscle balance. I place importance on providing education about the specific injury or problem area with the goal of making the treatment plan meaningful to each client. Lastly, I hope that my enthusiasm and interest in the body will inspire my clients to find joy in the process of recovery.
